French Mediterranean CoastThe Citadel known as 'Donjon' has been on this prominent headland since the 1600s as the regions main defensive structure. The canons were fired from the citadel on a number of occasions: in 1637 against the Spanish and in 1744 during the 1st Empire against the English. Now these ramparts and fortress walls offer a great view across the bay from St Tropez. Previous | Album | Next |
