French Mediterranean Coast

The Citadel known as 'Donjon' has been on this prominent headland since the 1600s as the regions main defensive structure. The canons were fired from the citadel on a number of occasions: in 1637 against the Spanish and in 1744 during the 1st Empire against the English. Now these ramparts and fortress walls offer a great view across the bay from St Tropez.
